Permilia Hickman was the third child of Elliott Hickman and Nancy Isbell. She was born abt 1813 in SC, per 1870 Lawrence County MO Census. She married John Howard (1817-1843/50) in Warren County, KY, and they moved to IL, where he died. After his death, she and three small children moved to Lawrence County, MO, where her mother and several siblings lived. Her children were: Elizabeth, Charles Aroy, and Nancy Evaline. It is believed Permilia Hickman Howard died in Lawrence County, probably near Mount Vernon, MO.
