Truth Bowne was a daughter of Thomas Bowne, shearman of Limetree farm. She was born circa 1622.

She was probably the unnamed sister visited by John Bowne during his visit to England in 1663, as mentioned in his journal, at which time she was living at the home of Thomas Key somewhere near Skegway, Nottinghamshire, England and Stainsby, Derbyshire, England (five miles apart).

She is said to have died in England after 1676, this date probably based upon the two wills drafted by her father, but not offered for probate.
