Former Madison County Woman Died In Bessemer

Mrs. Alta Jones Davis, 61, former resident of Madison county who died yesterday at the residence in Bessemer, was buried in Concord cemetery this afternoon.
Funeral rites were held at Concord church at 1 o'clock, with the Rev. J. D. Johnston of Birmingham, assisted by the Rev. Mr. Copeland, officiating. Laughlin-Service was in charge.
Mrs. Davis was born at Hazel Green. She had lived in Bessemer 32 years.
Surviving are the husband, Joseph E. Davis; four sons, Melvin and Knox Davis of Birmingham, Carl Davis of Bessemer and Brooks Davis of Fairfield; one daughter Mrs. Grace Williams of Fairfield, six sisters, Mrs. Will Miller, Birmingham, Mrs. Ed Hall, Concord, Mrs. Allie Davis, Plevna, Mrs. Exie Bridges, Montevallo, Mrs. Florence Sides and Mrs. Emma Tanner, Birmingham; one brother, Theo Jones of Fairfield.
