Alfred Gruber, age 92, of Manteca, CA, passed away on June 3, 2012. He was born on January 22, 1920 to Ben and Maxie Gruber in Hannibal, MO. Al was married to the love of his life for 70 years, Dale Gruber, who passed away November 17, 2009. He worked as a butcher for many years and later started his own business working as a Foremost Distributor. Al loved spending time with all of his grandchildren, great grandchildren and even his great, great grandchildren. He had a passion for golfing and bowling. Al was a long time member of the Church of Christ.
Al is preceded in death by his loving wife Dale Gruber, his parents, and three brothers. He is survived by his two daughters and their husbands; eight grandchildren. He also leaves behind 21 grandchildren, two great, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Al will be dearly missed by his family.

A Graveside service will be held at 12:30pm Monday, June 11, 2012 in the Garden of Gospels at Cherokee Memorial Park, Hwy 99 & Harney Ln., Lodi. Memorial contributions may be made in Al's name to the Hospice organization of your choice. Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home is honored to serve the Gruber Family.
