Annis R. Orr Barrett, age 96, of Odessa, Texas went to her heavenly home on November 1, 2006.
She was born on November 9, 1909 to Daniel M. Hall and Velma Viola (Ray) Hall. She was raised in Barnsdall, Oklahoma area and attended Barnsdall schools.
After moving to Hominy, Oklahoma, she married Charles Ralph Orr on December 19, 1932.
They had one daughter, Peggy. Mr. Orr passed away on March 15, 1960.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hominy. She was also a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star, where she services as Worthy Matron, District Deputy and several years as Secretary. She was also a member of P.E.O, Alpha Delphian Club and White Shrine. She later married Thad Barrett on January 9, 1975. They were married only briefly as he passed away on February 25, 1976.
Later years she moved to Odessa, Texas and lived at Parks Methodist Retirement Village.
Church membership was transferred to Temple Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles Ralph Orr and husband Thad Barrett, four brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by one daughter, Peggy G. Lee and husband C.L. Lee of Odessa.
Mama Orr, as she was known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren had:
Three grandchildren: Larry G. Lee and wife Cindy, Jerry D. Lee and wife Melinda, Sandra C. Lee Cagle and husband Chris Cagle.
Six great-grandchildren: Clinton Lee and wife Cassie, Matt Lee and fiancé Courtney McVey, Dustin Lee Chad Cagle, Brice Cagle and Ashly Cagle.
One sister: Nannie Lou McDonald and husband Gene McDonald of Montgomery, Alabama.
A very special thanks to the wonderful staff at Parks Assisted Living, the Odessa Medical Center Hospital ICU nurses and Dr. J. Whitten.
The family viewing will be held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday November 6, 2006.
The celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, November 11,2006 at Hominy First Baptist Church with Bob Shoemake officiating. Interment will be in the Hominy Cemetery.
