The farm house of Jellis Clute near Hunts was destroyed by fire Wednesday afternoon with nearly all the household goods. There was an insurance of $700 on furniture and some insurance on the dwelling, which was valued at $1,300. The fire is reported to have started from a defective chimney.

Jellis Clute Is Dead

Well Known Oakland Road Man Died Early Sunday Morning.

Jellis Clute, who has resided on the Oakland road the past five years, died, early Sunday morning from peritonitis, aged fifty years. He is survived by his wife and two children. The funeral was held Tuesday at 2 p. m., Rev. Cook of Fillmore, officiating and burial was made in Hunts Hollow cemetery.
