Abel Castro. Committed by Isaac N. Senter Judge of Santa Clara Feby 8th 1867. Age 25 years; native of Lower California; single; has been in this State one year; occupation, laborer. The evidence of insanity is his general conduct; is neither homicidal, suicidal nor incendiary. This is understood to be the first attack and first appeared within two weeks, disease stationary with rational intervals, periodical; has no hallucination; is only dangerous to himself; has no disposition to injure others; is not filthy or destructive; had no peculiarities; has been temperate; has suffered from eruption (rupture?/hernia?); cause of insanity, death of a brother; class, monomania (partial insanity of single preoccupation in an otherwise sound mind); no treatment. Admitted February 10th 1867. Has no property. Died March 21st 1868 of Consumption (Tuberculosis).
