TULIA - Robert L. "Bob" Damron, 74, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006, in Lubbock.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. James Hassell, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Kornerstone Funeral Directors.

Mr. Damron was born Oct. 30, 1931, on the family farm in Floyd County. He attended schools in Providence, Lockney and Plainview. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1951 until 1955. He returned to Lockney to run the family farm. They moved to Tulia in 1985, and he retired in 1987. He was a member of the VFW and First Baptist Church.

He married Patte Barnes on Jan. 15, 1965, in Tulia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. Sr. and Bessie Pearl Damron; three brothers, Clifford, John Aldon and J.W. Jr.; and a sister, Frances Wilhelm.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Rayna Jane Hays of Lockney; a son, Shayne Lee Damron of Tulia; a sister, Mildred Whitmire of Tulia; four granddaughters, Taylor Damron, Alisha Damron, Christen Damron and Amanda Hays; and two stepgranddaughters, Brandi Hays and Frankie Hays.

The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church, 101 N. Crosby, Tulia, TX 79088.
