Son of Zachariah Moxley & Mary Wagoner. Husband of Rachel Dillard (ma. 15 June 1855).

He was a union supporter who felt he was conscripted into the confederate army, On May 3, 1862
he enlisted into Co I 61st Regiment with his brother John, second cousin James and uncle Nathaniel. He and wife moved before 1869 to Iowa. From his autobiographical book WEASEL TOM, an autobiography of Thomas Moxley. Based on handwritten notebooks. 1840-1925
