Beloved Son of David and Ellen E Stoddard Eccles. Beloved Husband of Delores Dore Eccles. Founder of the Eccles foundation, A foundation that gives grants to restore old buildings and that also governs many other charitys and buisnesses. He made a lasting difference on The Arts,Community,Education and Medicine. He played a key role in the Founding of First Security Bank. He was there Chief Executive Officer and Chairman for nearly four dacades from 1945 to 1982 at the time of his death. He attended Columbia University. He donated to many charitys around the world. George Eccles was a leading member of both the association of bank holding companies and the association of reserve city bankers. After World Ward Two he became an economic and finacial consultant to the marshall plan and served as general chairman of the internatinal monetary conference in Vienna in 1964. He was a Civic Humanitarian.
