John Crago died young (age 29), after contracting TB during his Civil War service. He was a Corporal in the Union Army. His widow, Elizabeth Garner, married a second time to Joseph Baker, and was buried as Elizabeth Baker.

John and Elizabeth had two sons. Elizabeth also had several children by Joseph Baker.
