OBITUARY
Alfredo Byington was born to Alfredo R. Byington, Sr. and Annabel Cruz Byington in Falfurrias, Texas. He graduated from Falfurrias High School in 1952 and enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served his country for four years. He served aboard a destroyer, the U.S.S. Orleck, and saw action during the Korean Conflict. He was awarded several decorations while in the Navy including three Battle Stars for his action in Korea. After his military service, he attended the University of Texas at Austin and Texas A&I (now Texas A&M Kingsville) and received a B.B.A degree in 1960. He was City Clerk for the city of Falfurrias for several years and then worked in California for the city of Oakland. He was then employed by Florida Gas and Enron until his retirement. He married Sarah Ogdee of Falfurrias in 1967 and they were parents to one daughter, Anita. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife and daughter, Sarah Ogdee Byington and Anita Ogdee Byington. He is survived by two brothers, three nieces, and three nephews. He will be forever missed by his immediate family, his extended family, and his many friends who will lovingly remember his courage and his wit.
