Zeb Thomas Woody
Bakersville, N.C. - Mr. Zeb Thomas Woody, 77, went to be with His Lord, Friday, Nov. 17, 2006, surrounded by his family at his home in Bakersville.
Mr. Woody was the second of 12 children born to the late Thomas Jefferson and Carrie Woody.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Greene, Shirley McCray, Pearl Peterson and Beryl Bennett; and daughter, Lisa Annette Woody.
He was a member of Roan Mountain Baptist Church.
Mr. Woody and his wife, Lois Whitson Woody, owned and operated Woody's Electric Plumbing & Heating, Inc. for more than 50 years.
In addition to his devoted wife of 55 years, Lois, Mr. Woody is survived by four children and their families: son, Harvey Thomas Woody, granddaughter, Ericia Peterkin, and great-grandchildren, Brooke and Trenton; daughter, Janice Silver, son-in-law, Mike, and grandchildren, Kristen, Kegan and Kolby; daughter, Becky Pate, sonin-law, Steve, and grandchildren, Luke and Brittany; son, Shannon Woody, daughterin-law, Sarah and granddaughters, Caroline and Mary Beth.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Roan Mountain Baptist Church, Bakersville.
The funeral service will be at 3 p.m., with Mark McKinney, Paul Bennett and Don Stafford officiating.
Interment will follow the funeral service at Green B. Young Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be nephews, David, Don, Mike and Terry Burleson, Gary and Roger Peterson, Ross Jr. and Tim Greene, Mark and Matthew Woody, Tony Woody, David and Doug Greene, Bobby and Brent Styles, Brian and Lance Moody, and Gerald and Keith Whitson.
