Robert Stone Sr., 88, died Thursday, March 17, 2011, at his home near Crosby, Miss. He was born Oct. 21, 1922, in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and reared in Ashtabula, Ohio. He had resided in Crosby since 1959 and retired as a mill manager for I.P. Mill in Crosby. Survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert "Bobby" and Pam Stone, of Crosby; daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Robert Robinson, of Denham Springs; four granddaughters, Dr. Jennifer Ermon, DVM, and husband Michael, of Pine Grove, Janna Robinson, of Washington, D.C., Julie Trahan and husband Chris, of Greenwell Springs, and Tori Stone, of Centreville, Miss.; three great-grandchildren, Grayson and Hayden Ermon, and Gracie Trahan; sister, Margarite Matyas, of Marietta, Ga.; and sister-in-law, Rose Stone, of Hayes, Va. Preceded in death by his wife, Irene Ashley Stone; second wife, Lillian Walters Stone; infant daughter, Elizabeth Jane Stone; parents, Harry and Elizabeth Stone; brother, Jerry Stone; and mother and father-in-law, Alex and Phalba Joseph Ashley. He was a World War II Army veteran and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Woodville, Miss. Visiting at Brown Funeral Home in Gloster, Miss., Saturday, March 19, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting continues at Holy Family Catholic Church in Gloster on Sunday from 11:30 a.m. until of services at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Pat Smith. Interment in Hopewell Cemetery near Crosby. Pallbearers will be David Ashley Jr., Rohn Ashley, Chris Trahan, Michael Ermon, Dennis Dellard and John Mizell. Honorary pallbearers are Lev David Ashley and Clyde Wayne Ashley. The family would especially like to thank Mr. Robert's caregivers, Ann Johnson, Jackie Randall, Fannie Jackson, Dora Owen and Renee Johnson.
