LeRoy Leonard Reif Sr., age 82, a resident of St. Mary's Home, 2005 Division St., Manitowoc, formerly of Mishicot, died Sunday, October 24, 1999, at the home, with his family by his side.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 28, 1999, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mishicot. Rev. William O'Brien will officiate with burial in the Holy Cross Church Cemetery.
LeRoy was born December 24, 1916, in the town of Kossuth, son of the late Frank and Francis Hutterer Reif. On April 14, 1941, he married the former Anita Theresa Goetz at Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on August 25, 1963. On July 19, 1973, he married Marian Peterson. She preceded him in death on May 16, 1999. Mr. Reif owned and operated a dairy farm in the town of Gibson for many years and also worked in the building construction trades.
Survivors include seven daughters and sons-in-law, Lillian and Dean Matthias, Maribel, JoAnn and Jerry Shillcox, Mishicot, Jean and Steve Wacek, Brillion, Doris and Brian Johnson, Denmark, Rita and Jerome Hoffman, Mishicot, Ruth and Gary Kobes, Two Rivers, Theresa and Paul Lambrecht, Brillion: five sons and daughters-in-law, LeRoy Jr. "Butch" and Susie Reif, Brillion, Tom and Susan Reif, Manitowoc, Michael and Carrie Reif, Mishicot, Bill and Lisa Reif, Mishicot, John and Melody Reif, Brillion; one step-daughter, Theresa Becker, Florida; one step-son, Jerry Petersen, Reedsville; 48 grandchildren; 12 step grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; three sisters, Mildred (Herb) Kohlmeier, Manitowoc, Myrtle Zunker, Manitowoc, Norma and Anton Mott, Mishicot; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ray and June Larsen, Denmark, Maynard and Shirley Petersen, Denmark, Millie Reif, Milwaukee, Lucille Komosa, Manitowoc, June Celichowski, Denmark. LeRoy is further survived by nieces, nephews, and many special friends. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Robert; one daughter-in-law, Julie; two grandchildren; one step-son, Dale; five sisters and six brothers.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. on Wednesday at the Lambert Funeral Home, Mishicot, and after 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home until the time of service at 10 a.m. There will be a 8 p.m. parish Wake Service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
