According to my mother, my great-grandmother Julia was an excellent cook and worked for about 20 years as a live-in cook for the Warner family in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. Julia's husband Michael Bodnar appears on the 1900 census (without Julia) in Cleveland, Cuyahoga Co., Ohio as a boarder married for 22 yrs, born in Hungary. In 1902 their only daughter Mary came to the USA from Hungary to visit her father, Michael according to ship records. Julia always went by her maiden name, but her headstone reads "Julia Bodnar." On the 1910 census, with the William Warner family in Cleveland Heights it indicates that she is widowed; on the 1920 census, with the Whitney Warner family (son of William), it indicates her marital status as divorced. My mother never knew anything about her grandfather, Michael and it is assumed that they may have divorced as early as the late 1890s and then he died before the 1910 census.

Note, there are several age discrepancies. Ship manifests give her birthdate as 1861 and 1862; census records 1863 and 1865 and headstone/death certificate May 1857. I have since located her birth/baptismal record on familysearch.org as follows:
