Carroll Dean Lancaster, Sr., 78, of Columbus, MS passed away Friday, July 22, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT, Columbus, MS.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 24, 2016, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 PM with Bro. James Black officiating in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Lancaster was born December 25, 1937, to the late William Robert and Annie Lou Perrigin Lancaster in Pickens County, AL. He was a 1957 graduate of Carrollton High School, Carrollton, AL and a veteran of the United States Air Force. Mr. Lancaster a salesman for Standard Welding Supply for 38 years, and he was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. He was a Shriner, Mason member of the Columbus Lodge, and a member of the American Legion. Mr. Lancaster enjoyed fishing, hunting, and Alabama Football; and he loved his dogs-Roxie and Chloe. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers-Henry Carter Lancaster, Alvin Lancaster, and Ralph Lancaster; sisters-Louise Herron, Hilda Burns, and Mary Ellen Lancaster.
Mr. Lancaster is survived by his wife-Shirley Willeford Lancaster, Columbus, MS; daughters-Regina (Jeff) Hays, Steens, MS; and Stephanie (Kirk) Gayle, Columbus, MS; son-Carroll (Tonya) Dean Lancaster, Jr., Caledonia, MS; grandchildren-Raven (John) Hays, Kayla (Curtis) Tison, Trey Lancaster, Hannah Hays; and great-grandchild-Smith Tison; brother-Joe (Barbara) Lancaster.
Pallbearers will be Trey Lancaster, James Hays, Derrick Powell, Chris Lancaster, Brent Rickman, and Bill Rickman. Honorary Pallbearers will be Doctors, Nurses, and Staff at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT, Dr. Peter Toft, and Dr. Martin.
