The son of Charles and Margaret Peters Walker, born circa 1770 in Virginia. By earlier researchers, the brother of Charles Walker, Jr., Chrispi Anos H.A. Walker, Underwood Walker, William Walker, Julius Walker, Peggy (Margaret), & Catherine, perhaps Charity and Cordelia Walker.

This location became part of Mercer county, West Virginia.

The marriage bond of John & Nancey Mullins was signed on the 3rd of February, 1797.
His father's name is listed in the members of the first Grand Jury of the county.
John purchased this portion, part of 700 acres, probably prior to 27 March of 1810; on which date he ceded charge of the road to Charles Clay. It was on Rich Creek near Spanishburg. The graves are near where their home stood. An early and prominent citizen, he was the father of nine who were mentioned in his will, which was executed in 1849, and proven at court in 1850. The will divided land between all of his children who were mentioned, provided for his widow, and was witnessed by officers and appraisers of the county and the court and was signed by E. Vanter, Justice of the Peace. The lists of property and accounts payable to the estate are very interesting reading.
He and Nancey were farmers of a large tract, some of which was divided, but they were buried on their farm with stones as markers. UPDATE, SUMMER OF 2016
The photographs on the memorial show the stones as they were. In 2016, the stones are knocked flat, presumably by cattle, and are not standing.

*I have paid a fee for purchase of a copy of above marriage bond, obtained from a recognized institution, which affixed their seal.
John's mother, Margaret (sometimes listed as Elizabeth Margaret) was the sister of Christian Peters and John Peters who were soldiers of the Revolutionary War, and the daughter of Johan Peters.
Photographs of the stones were taken and added by descendants, thanks to all of them.
March 2012 - member 47708480 sends: death date of March 1850, from US Mortality Schedules.
More information for their children is added on Nancy's memorial.

These memorials for John and Nancy were previously done 30 Aug 2011, and were 75708595 & 75708657, for any who are confused by the dates. We think this improvement with the GPS and Google Map will bring them up more readily in searches, help with the location, and reduce the number of duplicates. By clicking on the line "John and Nancy Mullins Walker Burial" or the coordinates, that will take you to the map. To the best of my knowledge, there are no other burials there. No other markers remain. Be advised this spot is on private property.
Thanks and credit to Mr. Griffith for the photographs, coordinates and assistance!
Also to Admin for their help :-)
2020: The name has been changed yet again, some cannot leave well enough alone, however it is not a "cemetery". Bio by aye ain't.
