Brenda Belcher, 53, of Shady Spring, West Virginia died Monday, July 25, 2016 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley. Born January 1, 1963 in Beckley she was the daughter of Elliott Bowling and Shirley Thomas Bowling of Shady Spring.

She was a member of Glen Raven Baptist Church in Glen Raven, North Carolina where she was active in online ministry. Brenda was a 1981 graduate of Shady Spring High School and later attended Beckley Cosmetology School. She received her nursing degree from Beckley College. She was a former manager of Carehaven of Raleigh, a bi-state hospice nurse in West Virginia and Virginia and most recently was a nurse at Duke University Medical Center. In her spare time Brenda enjoyed gardening and crafts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennie Lee Belcher, Sr. in 2003.



Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 29, 2016 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ralph Calfee officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Family will serve as pallbearers.
