Josephine Tumminello Koscielski, 86, a longtime resident of Swoyersville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, at Kingston Health Care Center, where she was a guest for a short time.

Her beloved husband was the late Stanley J. Koscielski, who passed away Aug. 13, 2004. Stanley and Josephine were blessed to share nearly 53 years of marriage.

Josephine, or Josie as she was affectionately known by family and friends, was born April 18, 1930, in Brooklyn, N.Y. She was one of three daughters born to the late Jack and Nancy (Grasso) Tumminello.

Raised in Swoyersville, Josie was a graduate of the former Swoyersville High School, Class of 1948.

A devout Catholic, Josie was a past member of the former Holy Name/St. Mary's Parish Community, Swoyersville. Following the consolidation of her church, she became a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Parish, Swoyersville.

Josie was a very loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who will be forever loved and greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, Jack and Nancy Tumminello, and her husband, Stanley, Josephine was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Dr. Drue Paden, and her sisters, Pietra Tumminello and Angelina Vecchio.

Josephine is survived by her daughters, Nancy A. Paden, Moosic; and Frances A. Travinski and her husband, Gary Sr., Larksville; her grandchildren, Gary Travinski Jr., David Paden and Lisa Paden; and her great-grandson, Drue Paden.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes St., Swoyersville, with the Rev. Joseph J. Pisaneschi, her pastor, officiating.

Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Roman Catholic Cemetery, Carverton, where Josephine will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.

Family and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes St., Swoyersville.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wroblewski Funeral Home Inc., 1442 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort.
