Obituary: Obituary Collection by Borden Historical Society, page 378, column 1, no newspaper given, dated 28 Jan 1989, reads: Tom Hurst – Funeral services for Tom Hurst, 80, of R. 2, Borden, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Daisy Hill United Methodist church with burial in the church cemetery. He died Thursday at his home. He was a native of Washington County and a retired cabinetmaker. Survivors include his wife, the former Ruth E. Mull; two daughters, Virginia Burns and Beulah Boling; six sons, Wayne Hurst of Pekin, Glenn Hurst of Sellersburg, and Tommy, Eldon, Randy and David Hurst; two brothers, Abe and Bruce Hurst, both of Pekin; 25 grandchildren,; 34 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
