Mary Anna Andersen, 79, of Boulder, passed away on April 6, 2013. Mary was born on February 3, 1934 in Red Cloud, Nebraska to Paul and Grace Jelinek. Mary graduated from Red Cloud High School in 1951. She married Kenneth L. Andersen in 1952. The family moved from Kearney, Nebraska to Boulder, Colorado in 1961. She retired from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1989 after 24 years. Mary was very active with the American Legion Auxiliary. Her most special interests included playing the piano, trips to Hawaii and her family. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Robert L. Andersen. Mary is survived by her two sisters, beloved children [3 daughters, 1 son], 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Most important: Faith in God; love of family and friends. A formal memorial service will not be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Mary to the American Diabetes Foundation, www.diabetes.org or the Alzheimer’s Foundation, www.alzfdn.org.
