Salvatore "Sam" Calleri, age 82, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2016, at his home in Flower Mound.

He was born February 9, 1934 in Rochester, New York to Sebastiano and Mary Sgroi Calleri. Sam served his country in the in the United States Army after he graduated from Dundalk High School in Maryland. Sam received his Bachelor of Science degree from Baltimore College of Commerce in June of 1965. Sam relocated to Texas in order to advance his career specializing in new town development. In February of 1994 Sam retired from Ryland Homes.

He is survived by his wife, Nelda; children, Angela Woodruff and husband, Randall, Laura Calleri, James A. Calleri, Benjamin Kirk Bingham and Eadie Skelton and husband, James; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Fredrick Calleri and wife Gail, sister-in-law, Mary Ann Calleri. Sam was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Thomas Calleri.
