Norman worked on the Highway 17 North when it was originally built and worked as a game warden for a number of years. He also worked on the Stelton Police Force for a number of years and then at the Algoma Steel, he was a fireman on the steam engines. When the diesel engine came out he was a diesel engineer in the Transportation Department. Norman was also a member of the Odd Fellow Lodge.

Sault Ste. Marie 50 Years Ago - Constable Sherwood is back on duty in Steelton after a two weeks illness. His place on the police force was filled during his absence by Frank Armstrong.

Sherwood - Norman - At the Plummer Memorial Hospital, Sunday, October 17, Mr. Norman Sherwood, 444 Second Avenue, beloved husband of Mrs. Jean Sherwood and father of Lois Annie, Norman, Bruce and Marjorie May, all of this city. Resting at Langstaff's Funeral Home Tuesday evening. Funeral in the chapel Wednesday, October 20 at 3:30 p.m., Rev. C. L. Wooley officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery.
