Lydia moved with husband Nathan Stanton from Barlow, Washington County, Ohio to Iowa and finally to Appanoose County by 1852. She had 7 children who survived to adulthood. It is recorded in the History of Appanoose County that they belonged to the Wesleyan Methodist Church which first met in a school house where her brother Richard Conkright was the first teacher.
Amazing that my family had actually saved this picture of her. Claude Baker, my Grandfather had found this picture in the property of Della Stanton, his mother. It was preserved by Bill Banta, Great grandson of Della.
