LIVINGSTON.
Mary S., wife of Joseph G. Beer, died after a lingering illness at her home near Green City, Mo. She was the daughter of Nathan Stanton and grew up from childhood in this township. Here she was married and lived on the old Beer homestead till about two years ago, when they purchased and moved to their present home. She was a sprightly, energetic woman. She leaves a young family without a mother and many friends to mourn her early departure.
"Friend after friend departs,
Who has not lost a friend?
There is no union here of hearts,
That has not here an end."
Centerville Citizen, Centerville, Iowa, Wednesday, 28 December 1892, page 5
Her husband was Joseph G. Beer, son of George S. Beer and Priscilla Beer.
