Daniel Foot's site here is a cenotaph. He is physically buried at Canton, NY (FAG 18767101). He was a significant landowner in Middlebury, having originally arrived prior to the Revolutionary War, exiting, then returning in 1783. He deeded his significant property holdings to his children and in 1801 set out for Canton, NY whither his son Stillman had removed to previously. It is said he contracted small box on his route to Canton, via Montreal, of which he died from shortly after arriving in Canton.
