John Rinehart, age 64, of Arlington died at his residence on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 7:36pm. He was born on May 6, 1952, to Howard V. Rinehart (deceased) and Juanita M. (Steinman) Rinehart of Arlington. He is survived by his mother, his brother: Steven L. (Shirley) Rinehart of Sun City, Fla.; sister: Mindy (Dave) Lotz of Arlington and numerous nieces and nephews that he doted on. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother: Timothy Rinehart who was killed in Vietnam and his beloved dog: Sandra Dee. John was a 1970 graduate of Arlington High School and a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church. He graduated from DeVry Institute of Technology and went on to work for 17 years for IBM in Columbus, before returning to Arlington and working for C.B.and I., where he retired last year. John was a kind and gentle soul, who loved watching Ohio State, the Browns, the Indians, and above all was a loyal Arlington Red Devil fan. Many Friday nights you could hear him singing the National Anthem proudly and loudly and cheering on the Red Devil football team. He loved to reminisce about the old times and his past accomplishments as a Minor League baseball coach. Most of all, John loved his friends and family. He will certainly be missed. The family would like to thank the staff at Fox Run and his neighbors from Wilch Street in Arlington for their loving care over the years. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016 from 3-7pm at CRATES FUNERAL HOME in Arlington, where funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Friday. Pastor Steve Ramsey will officiate. Interment will be private. The family asks that memorials be given to the Arlington Athletic Boosters in his name.
