The son of Mr. and Mrs. George Dilts was born in White County on May 5, 1918. Following his marriage to Miss Frances Shellhart in Winamac in 1938, they lived on a farm in the Star City vicinity, and later moved to Winamac. He was a building contractor, and served as Pulaski County Surveyor in 1949-1950. During World War II he served in the Navy with the engineers.
He was a member of the Winamac American Legion, the Pulaski County Farm Bureau, the Winamac Conservation Club and Eagles Lodge.
Survivors are his wife; four daughters, Della, Ella, Beverly and Thelma, and three sons, Dale, Jr., Willard and Charles, all at home; father, living at Royal Center; half-brother, Eugene Dilts of Winamac; two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Hicks of Royal Center and Mrs. Emma Hoffer of Fort Wayne.
Final rites were held Monday afternoon at the Fry & Lange Funeral Home, with the Rev. C. D. Barringer officiating.
