Should you happen upon this little remembrance of Michael, he would like you to know these trifles. His passions were many, his regrets few.
His first passion was his service to his country as a Yeoman Petty Officer in the United States Navy (USS Simon Lake, Holy Loch, Scotland, 1966-1970); and (Chief of Naval Education and Training, Pensacola, Florida, 1970-1974).
His second passion, but most certainly not second in importance, was his lifelong, unwaivering love for cats.
And his third passion, a commitment to fighting for equal human and civil rights for his GLBT communities.
His regrets he kept private.
Michael attempted, with varying degrees of success, to abide by these lines from "The Wearie Wayfarer" by Adam Lindsay Gordon:
"Life is mainly froth and bubble;
Two things stand like stone.
Kindness in another's trouble;
Courage in one's own."
