"On this 25th day of October 1832 appeared Elizabeth Fisher, a citizen of Gibson County (Tennessee), in open court and made oath in due form of law that she was well acquainted with Captain Samuel Hogg deceased late of the Virginia Continental Line in the Revolutionary War who served same five years, and I feel confident that he remained in service during the war and with all his connections. He had three brothers, Lowell Richard Hogg, who died leaving no children; John Hogg, who died leaving two children who died before arriving at maturity and leaving no children; and Thomas Hogg who died leaving but two children, Dr. Samuel Hogg now of Nashville and John B. Hogg of Trenton in this county. Captain Samuel Hogg died leaving no children. Deponant believes that the said John B. Hogg and the said Dr. Samuel Hogg are the only heirs of the said Captain Samuel Hogg either the whole or half blood." Signed by Elizabeth Fisher
