s/o Williston Talbot B1750 D1827 of Campbell Co, wife: Martha Ridley Thornton Talbot B1793 Daft1850, d/o Sterling Clack Thornton B1753 D1832, and Mary Jones, d/o Major Peter Jones III and Dorothy Chamberlain. Also the father of Mary Jane Talbot Lee B1820, wife of Robert M Lee.

Allen Talbot was the son of Williston Talbot & Elizabeth Cock-Williston, son of Charles Talbot, Jr. [d. 1779] and Drucilla Guin. Williston Talbot was Sheriff of Campbell Co. in 1793, Militia Lt. in 1778; Charles was the son of Matthew Talbot [1699-1758] and Mary Williston. When Bedford Co. was formed from Lunenburg Co. in 1754, the first meetings of the Justices were held at the "Talbots".
