Annette Cox Ellison
March 12, 1961 ~ September 7, 2016
(age 55)

Through the tender mercies of our Heavenly Father, Annette Cox Ellison, age 55, returned home on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, after a life long battle with renal disease. Her family and friends were privileged to witness her optimism and strength, as she overcame colon cancer and many other health challenges.

She was born March 12, 1961 to Gordon and Noleen Cox in Ogden, Utah. She was a twin with five siblings. With much love, fun and enjoyment she was raised in Hooper, UT and graduated from Roy High in 1979 where she enjoyed cheerleading. She attended Ricks College and Weber State University where she was able to pursue her passion for dance.

Annette was blessed with four children from previous marriages. She married Bart F. Ellison on April 25, 2008 and gained four stepchildren. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Throughout her many trials and struggles, she never lost faith in the mercy and love of her Heavenly Father and his plan for her.

She loved horses and enjoyed competing in rodeos as a barrel racer and in queening competitions. She found joy in animals, dancing, pranks, serving others and treasured time spent with her family. Annette will be remembered as a devoted daughter, loving sister, caring and adoring mother, a true friend, and a lifelong prankster. Everyone who came in contact with Annette was drawn to her charismatic personality and infectious smile. Wherever she went laughter followed, mostly as a result of a prank. She loved life. She worked for many years as a Registered Nurse and enjoyed working in Hospice care.

Annette is survived and will be deeply missed by her husband, Bart; her children, Annalyn (Adam) Burch, Chelsea (Matt) Damon, Luke (Kelsey) Hollingsworth, and Nikki Hollingsworth; step-children, Colby (Madisen) Ellison, Kaleigh, Casen, and Camren Ellison; grandchildren, Addalyn, Aiden, Ashlyn, Asher Burch, and baby Ellison; her father, Gordon Cox; and siblings, Sherrie (Alan) Russell, Renae (Ron) Sturdevant, Neil (Kathy) Cox, Lynette (Bruce) Wilson, Naleen (Mark) Lee, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Her mother Noleen Cox and nephew Jed Russell preceded her in death.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Sunday, September 11th from 6 -8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. Another viewing will be held Monday, September 12, 2016 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., with funeral services following at 11 a.m. at the Hooper 3rd Ward Chapel, 5600 South 6100 West.
