Arlene (Milberger) Mitchell, age 80, died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016 at her home. She was born September 2, 1936 in Wilson, Kansas to Henry and Edna Milberger.

After graduating from Wilson High School, Wilson, KS she moved to Kansas City where she attended St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing. She received her R.N. diploma in 1958. She worked in the specialty of urology for over 20 years. Later, she worked for Hospice Care of Mid-America.

Arlene was involved in many volunteer services. She was a member of St. Luke's Medical Wives Auxiliary, St. Luke's Nurses Alumni Association. And the Village Presbyterian Chancel Choir.

Arlene married Dr. Andrew D. Mitchell in 1970.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; niece, Patty; sister, Delores; and brother, Richard.

Survivors include 3 step-children, Melissa (B.A.) Finstead, South Pasadena, CA; Dr. Andrew Werner (Betty) Mitchell, Colorado Springs, CO; and Sam W. (Barbara) Mitchell, Overland Park, KS; seven grandchildren who she loved as her own; brother, Ray (Jan) Milberger, California. nieces and nephews,
