James Donnell birth date and birth place us unknown. He died in Prince Edward County, Virginia in 1763. It is believed he was buried in an unmarked grave in the Buffalo Church cemetery. He was an elder in the church. James was married to Jean Kelso and they had a large family. On 25 March 1763 James Donnell completed and posted a will in Farmville, Prince Edward, Virginia.

There has been a lot of specifications in the parents of James Daniel. I set out with the purpose of finding his family pedigree. I could not find any positive information that was supported with sources. I then decided to try the DNA route as it is the most concrete study. I use three distant James Donnell descendant's DNA results that make a conclusive match. The haplogroup. R-JFS 0009, being very rare. I then compared the DNA results with the John and Ann (Bates) Daniel family DNA results and found without a dough there is no relationship to James Donnell and Jean Kelso. I know it will be hare to change minds of so many individuals that have completed hours of work in their family tree and maybe a distrust in DNA but this is the compelling truth.

I do not like to speculate but I do have strong evidence about the name changes and family locations prior to James Donnell.
