Mrs. Katherine Hartman died at the home of her son, William, eight miles east of Cullom, on Saturday at the age of Nearly 88 years.
Katherine Steinberg Hartman was born March 10, 1841, in Germany. In 1865 she was united in marriage to John Hartman, who preceded her in death in September of 1919. This union was blessed with ten children, all of whom survive with the exceptions of Sophia and Maggie.
The departed had been ailing for years and was totally blind. Finally on last Saturday noon life ebbed away after she had attained the age of 87 years, eight months and fourteen days.
She leaves to mourn her departure the following children: Katherine Hendrickson, of Verdale, Minn.; Lizzie Newmann, of Sulphur Springs, Iowa; Phil and George, of Herscher; Sorena Grier, of Chicago; Mary Wirkus, of Cabery; Lena Fredericks, of Crescent City; also 37 grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
