Joan Arnold was born about 1558 in Saint Albans, Hertfordshire, England. She was a younger sister (or a younger half-sister) of John Arnold.

She married Walter Antrobus on 8 February 1586/87 in Saint Albans, Hertfordshire, England.

Mother of six children.

She sailed for Massachusetts on the Planter in 1635, together with her daughter Joan, her son-in-law John Tuttle, her grandson William Lawrence and her Tuttle grandchildren.

She died about 1638 in Ipswich, Massachusetts.

NOTE: Although the age of Joan (Arnold) Antrobus was recorded as 65 when she enrolled in London on 2 April 1635 as a passenger for sail to New England aboard the Planter, she was likely significantly older (baptized before 13 November 1558).
