From The Texas Heritage of the Fishers and the Clarks: "An improvised casket was prepared, and interment was made under a live oak tree on the north bank of the North Llano River, shortly below the present North Llano bridge at the edge of Junction. No marker can be seen, time and the elements having erased any sign of the last resting place of that great and noble frontiersman."
