Happel J. Terrell, 91, of Bethesda died Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998, at her home.
Born Jan. 6, 1907, in Batesville, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Norah Pierce Brooks. She was a homemaker and a member of Pilgrim's Rest Baptist Church.
Survivors include five sons, Troy Lee Terrell of Mount Pleasant, Kae D. Terrell and Robert J. Terrell, both of Bethesda, Jerry Don Terrell of Mobile, Ala., and Happel D. Terrell of Annadale, Va.; a daughter, Bernadine Weis of Bethesda; two sisters, Zelda Hudson and Litchford Gamel, both of Batesville; 28 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Henry Terrell; a son, Carl A. Terrell; and seven grandchildren.
The funeral will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pilgrim's Rest Baptist Church near Bethesda with the Rev. Leonard Williams officiating. Burial will be in Campground Cemetery in Bethesda under the direction of Willis Funeral Service of Batesville.
Pallbearers will be Mike Terrell, Brian Jackson, Billy Konkler, Andy Konkler, Andy Denham, Matthew Terrell and Norman K. Terrell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Weis, Bobby Lee Terrell, Jimmy Terrell, Hugh Dowell, Johnnie Hugh Dowell, Joe Terrell and Tom Dowell.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
