While Mr. Beaman and a hired man, living near Cassoday, were out trying to rescue some of his stock from the flood last Sunday morning, Mr. Beaman was struck by lightning and killed. It seems as though they both had to swim a draw to get to the stock. While swimming Mr. Beaman was struck by lightning and killed. The boy at once ran to the house and got one of Mr. Beaman's boys and they immediately got Mr. Beaman out of the water. he had a terrible gash in his head and his horse was also killed.
