OBITUARY, Paterson Daily Press, 12/19/1881.
A SAD AFFLICTION.
Harold Ryle, aged 18 years, the third son of the late William Ryle, died in Germantown, Pa., on Saturday night from typhoid fever. He had until recently been a student at St. Paul's School, Concord, N.H. Expecting to enter the silk business, he went to Philadelphia, a short time ago, and voluntarily took employment in a silk mill, being possessed with the commendable notion that by beginning at the bottom of the ladder he would best familiarize himself with his chosen business. He was taken sick a few days ago, and word was sent to his mother, who arrived Friday, only to see her son expire the next day. His remains were brought to Paterson last night. The affliction which has of late befallen this family is very sad. Only a few weeks ago, the head of the family died, and now one of the most promising of the children is dead. The funeral will take place on Wednesday. The interment will be at the option of the family.
