On Monday, December 18, 2006 at 9 p.m., our sovereign Lord called Louis Peyton, Jr. from labor to reward. Louis Peyton, Jr. was born October 30, 1955 in Biloxi, MS to the late Rev. Louis and Mamie Peyton, Sr. He attended school in Biloxi, MS and graduated from Biloxi High School, receiving a certificate from Biloxi Trade and Industrial School. Louis was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Biloxi. He was the founder and president of Fat Back International in 1983, the president of the Biloxi High School Class Reunion in 1975, and a member of the Vernon Gilbert Elks Lodge.
He was married on August 10, 1985 to Shirley Peyton. They were the parents of two sons, Louis Peyton and the late Jamel Peyton. He was a faithful and ardent worker. He was employed with the Mississippi State Coast Coliseum from 1977-1996 and Walker Audio Video from 1988 until his death.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Louis Peyton, Sr. in 1984; his mother, Sis. Mamie Peyton in 1999; one son, Jamel Peyton in 1994; one sister, Regina Buchanan in 2003, and one brother, Elbert Jay Peyton in 2001.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife and helpmate: Shirley A. Peyton of Long Beach, MS; one son: Louis Peyton of Long Beach, MS; two sisters: Sharon Peyton of Biloxi, MS and Lydia Peyton of Houston, TX; one brother: Kevin Peyton of Houston, TX; a devoted uncle: Randolph (Wilene) Peyton of Biloxi; six nieces: Vashti, Adrianne, Carmelita, Easter, Lydia, Ashanti; two nephews: Emanuel and Vincent; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
