She was a secretary for a local senator while living in Maryland, and also worked at her mother's general store in Nesquehoning during the depression.
Born in Nesquehoning, she was a daughter of the late George and Mary (Kosvilka) Lengyel.
She was a member of St. John's Orthodox Church, Nesquehoning.
Margaret was a volunteer for the Red Cross in Meriden, CT.
Surviving are a daughter, Michele "Kelly" McConnon of Nesquehoning and Virginia; two sons, Thomas of Nesquehoning and George of Plainville, CT; three grandchildren, Shawn M. McConnon, Lisa McConnon/Langlois and Colleen H. McConnon; five great-grandchildren, Shawn M. Jr., Connie, Matthew, Bethany and Emma McConnon; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Peter, Frank, and George.
Service: Panachida service 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, Joseph S. Blazosky Funeral Home, 81 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning; funeral service 11 a.m., St. John's Orthodox Church, 9 W. Railroad St., Nesquehoning, with the Rev. Robert Teklinsky officiating. Interment, parish cemetery, Nesquehoning. Call 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday. Contributions in her name may be made to the church.
