Married Anne Bowen in Carmarthenshire, Wales in 1848. They came to the U.S. in June 1869, bringing with them their (7?) children.

   From William G Cutler's "History of the State of Kansas", first published in 1883 by A.T. Andreas, Chicago, IL:
"Brown county pioneer. He was the founder of the Welsh Settlement of Padonia Township, consisting of ten families, all of whom came to this country through his influence, and constitute the best citizens and substantial farmers of this township. One of the first members of the First Baptist Church at Hiawatha, and served in the capacity of deacon ever since he came to this State."
