On Saturday evening, May 8, 1943, she married Lieut. Alfred E. Castle at the home of her father, Lieut. Comdr. Charles Greene Grimes on Kramer Road in Dayton, Ohio. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Raymond Riebs of St. Paul's Episcopal Church of Oakwood.
They were the parents of two children.

Adele Grimes Castle was born on October 17, 1919 in the District of Columbia, the daughter of Captain Charles Greene Grimes and Lucy Burleson Grimes. She attended Oakwood High School, graduating in 1937 and the University of Texas, Class of 1941. She received her Masters of Education from the University of Dayton. In 1943 she married Lieut. Alfred E. Castle of Barrington, Illinois while he was stationed at Wright Field. Their marriage ended in divorce. She was a member of the DAR, Four Seasons Garden Club, Pi Beta Phi and the Oakwood Historical Society. She died on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 in Dayton, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her son, Captain Edward Burleson Castle; her former husband, Alfred E. Castle; brother, Burleson Grimes Sr. and her brother-in-law, William T. Butt Sr. Survivors included her two sons and two daughters-in-law of Salado, Texas and Dayton, Ohio; two granddaughters of Dayton and of Columbus, Ohio; sister, Eleanor Grimes Butt of Dayton; sister-in-law, Rosemary Hall Grimes of Troy, Ohio and several nieces and nephews. Services were held at Woodland Cemetery with Pastor Steve Kimple officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions were suggested to The Oakwood Historical Society at 1947 Far Hills Avenue in Dayton, Ohio or The Humane Society of Greater Dayton at 1661 Nicholas Road in Dayton, Ohio. Arrangements were by Morris Sons Funeral Home at 1771 East Dorothy Lane in Kettering.
