BUTT, Eleanor Grimes (Elle), age 91, passed away on May 22, 2012. Elle was born on May 13, 1921 in Dayton, Ohio to Charles Greene Grimes and Lucy Burleson Grimes. She graduated from Harman Elementary School in Dayton, Ohio (Oakwood). She attended The University of Texas in Austin where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi and graduated from The University of Dayton. Elle married William T. Butt in 1942 when he was stationed at Wright Patterson Air Force Base during World War II. She was an avid gardener, reader, golfer and volunteer. She was a member of the Colonial Dames of America, the Junior League of Dayton and the Four Seasons Garden Club. A devoted wife and a loving mother, Elle will be missed by her family and friends. Elle was preceded in death by husband of 54 years, William T. Butt, son, Sidney B. Butt, sister, Adele G. Castle, brother, Burleson Grimes and son-in-law, Denis Thomas. She is survived by her sons William T. Butt Jr. (Cynthia) and David S. Butt, daughter, Barbara B. Thomas and her grandchildren Rachel Butt, Ian Butt (Emma) and Laura Dudebout (Nicolas). Services will be held privately. Donations in her memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
