Hannah was the wife of Henry Matteson I (married 1670 in East Greenwich, Kent, RI) and the mother of sons, Henry, Thomas, Joseph, Francis, Hezekiah, and Josiah, and daughter, Hannah.
According to John Potter, West Greenwich, RI: "It is unfortunate that the Matteson Congress placed this memorial at this location. There is but little speculative evidence that Henry Matteson and Hannah Parsons Matteson are, or were ever, buried in the Vaughan Lot. Further, there are no other Mattesons in this lot. It is believed that Hannah and Henry are buried in the Matteson Lot which is located at Nooseneck Hill Road, West Greenwich; Kent County; Rhode Island, USA."
"Henry and Hannah are, however, found in the Matteson Family Cemetery WG016 in West Greenwich, off of Route 3, and Hoxie Rd. They are buried there with many of their children, their spouses, and in-laws.
