AUBURN | Anita Cutrona Avola, 91, the wife of Anthony, of Dunning Avenue, died Tuesday, March 18, 2014 in Auburn Nursing Home.
A native of Sicily, Anita lived most of her life in Auburn. She was a communicant of St. Francis Church and was a member of their Sacred Heart Society. Until her retirement, she had been employed in the bakery at the Mohican Market.
In addition to her husband, Anthony, she is survived by two sons, Joseph and his wife, Barbara, of Cape Vincent, and Richard and his wife, Mary, of Auburn; one daughter, Yolanda Avola, of Florida; three brothers, Ciro and his wife, Mary, Sheddo and his wife, Dina, and John, all of Sicily; six grandchildren, Deborah, Joseph, Amberlee, Brandon, Christopher, and Jesse; two great-grandchildren, Sebastian and Hailey, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to join the family for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday by the Rev. Michael Conboy in St. Francis Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours for Anita will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. (today) Thursday in the Cheche Funeral Home Inc., 1778 Clark St. Road, Auburn.
