Effie Mae Appleby, 92, died July 7, 1999, at a local hospital. Born in Portsmouth, she was the widow of William F. Appleby. She was Baptist.
She is survived by a son, William "Bill" Appleby of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; and a brother, Henry H. Hanrahan and his wife, Louise, of Nashua, N.H.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, by the Rev. David I. Moshier. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
