PROCTOR,VT. - Laura B. Chamberland, 59, of Proctor, died Tuesday evening, June 21st 2005, at her residence, following a long illness. She was born in Rutland, April 19th 1946, the daughter of Edward and Charlotte (Bixby) Badger.
As a child she was raised in East Clarendon, attended its schools and graduated from Mount Saint Joseph Academy. She was married to Harry E. Chamberland on November 28th 1964, and they relocated to Proctor.
Mrs. Chamberland was a member of the St. Dominic's Church, a Rutland Regional Medical Center volunteer and had been employed by the College of St. Joseph.
She was known for raising rabbits and was an exhibitor at many shows including the Vermont State Fair. She and her children were involved in the Rutland County 4-H Association.
Her hobbies included bird and animal watching and traveling. She enjoyed a recent trip to Walt Disney World with her family. She also was an avid NASCAR and Jeff Gordon fan. She enjoyed her monthly outing with her mother to the old-time fiddlers.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Harry E. Chamberland of Proctor; her mother of North Clarendon; a daughter and three sons,three sisters,a granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her father, her brother, Edward Badger, predeceased her in 2004.
Funeral services will be 10am Friday at the St. Dominic's Church in Proctor. Burial will follow in the East Clarendon Cemetery.
